President Dave Cavey called the HZBA monthly meeting to order at 12:07 pm.

Officer Reports:

1. President: Dave welcomed everyone to the meeting. We were joined by new faces Tanya Ruth, a guest of Jim Deluca, and Brian from the commercial loans division of the Hagerstown Branch of Sovereign Bank. Dave reported that the North County Association will hold a general meeting for traffic study at the high school on May 26th at 7:30 pm. Dave will attend the Hereford Community Association meeting in hopes of getting Wade Koch or JB Jennings for a legislative update.
2. Secretary: The meeting minutes from April were approved as written.
3. Treasurer: Ending balance @ 4/30/05 is $10,490.78

Old Business/Open Items:

1. Working budget needs to be developed
2. Vote needs to be taken regarding changing our meeting time to a breakfast meeting

Committee Reports:

1. Directory: the "new and improved" Directory was the focus of this meeting. Vicki Franz presented an option to include the Directory within her ARRIVE magazine with both direct mail/pick-up distribution. Rose presented an option to produce the Directory separately from ARRIVE, and direct mail to 8000 households within the zone zip codes. Much discussion ensued, with no final decision made. Dave requested the committee return to re-working their proposals with an accurate projected budget-- to be presented at the July meeting.
2. Membership: no report
3. Web Master: Rose and Sharon agreed to volunteer on this committee. They plan to discuss the insertion of Help Wanted Classified Ads onto the website among other topics.
4. Fall Fest: A meeting on May 18th was set with Al Copp and Mary Pitt to meet with the HVFD to vitalize the fest for 2005.
5. Welcome Book: No more printings for this year. This may be incorporated with the Directory. Several still to be delivered and will be brought to the next regular meeting.
6. Mini-Golf Outing: RAIN OR SHINE. Saturday, June 11, 2005 with a shotgun start at noon and running till 2:00 p.m. at the Hereford Golf Center. The cost is $5 per person with a portion being donated to the Cluster Food Bank. Prizes will be awarded! Advertising to go to schools, church bulletin at St. James, a sign at the golf center, HZBA website and community notes in local paper. Dianne needs volunteers and hole sponsors. Please call her if you can help before or during the event.

Meeting Adjourned:
The group introduced themselves to each other and guests. There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 1:00 pm.

Next meeting:
June 9th, 2005 at Woodhall Wineries. Food provided by FOOD BY FIRE, wine by WOODHALL WINERIES with the menu rounded out by the hospitality committee. Jim Deluca will send out invitations two weeks prior to the event. Time is 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. This is a social event, so join us for a relaxing and fun time!
